Fiscal 2010 Results show Strong Profitability
– Revenue decline of 2.9% to 278.6 million euro
– Net income increased by 15.8% to 20.2 million euro
Schiphol/Amsterdam, the Netherlands, 7 April 2011 – Teleplan International
N.V. (ISIN: NL0000229458), the leading global provider of high-tech
after-market services for the Computer, Communications and Consumer
Electronics industries announced today its audited results for 2010.
Teleplan revenues amounted to 278.6 million euro in the year under review
(previous year: 287.2 million euro) representing a decrease of 2.9%. EBITDA
fell from 33.8 million euro to 29.5 million euro, EBIT decreased by 13.8%
to 24.9 million euro (previous year: 28.9 million euro) and net income rose
by 15.8% to 20.2 million euro. Consequently earnings per share increased to
0.33 euro (previous year: 0.29 euro).
Strong profitability in the computer segment
Revenue in the Computer segment decreased by 6.8% to 122.0 million euro in
the financial year 2010 compared to 131.0 million euro the previous year
due to site and portfolio optimization. The Communications segment
continued to grow over the last year by 7.6% to 94.4 million euro (previous
year: 87.8 million euro). Revenue in the Consumer Electronics segment
decreased by 9.2 % to 62.1 million euro during the financial year 2010,
compared to 68.4 million euro the year before. This development was caused
by the introduction of updated more reliable device models by a major
customer and the expiration of manufacturer warranty periods for older
models. Only the Computer segment was able to achieve an increase in
profitability. In the Communications segment the results were impacted by
the additional costs for winding down a customer program. Lower
profitability in the Consumer Electronics segment is due to lower repair
models.
Weaker cash generation from operations and significantly increased equity
ratio
In 2010 cash generated from operations amounted to 20.2 million euro, down
from 40.1 million euro one year earlier mainly due to the increase of net
working capital. Net cash from operations after financial expenses and
income taxes paid was 13.5 million euro compared to 31.2 million euro in
2009. Net cash was used for investing activities in new customer service
programs and a small acquisition of a service company in Belgium. Cash used
in financing activities was an outflow of 7.9 million euro due to loan
repayments and a 3.6 million euro dividend distribution for the fiscal year
2009.
Total equity increased to 72.0 million euro at 31 December 2010 compared
with 50.8 million euro at 31 December 2009. The increase in net income and
currency translations on foreign operations were reflected in this
increase. The equity ratio increased by 9.9 percentage points from 34.8% to
44.7% at 31 December 2010.
–We were able to slow down the revenue decline while delivering strong
profitability and solid financial ratios at the same time, commented
Gotthard Haug, CEO of Teleplan, the business year 2010. –Now we are
extremely excited to deliver on our growth strategy and show increasing
revenues with strong profitability at the same time. This combined with the
support of our majority shareholder Gilde will make Teleplan an even
stronger and more competitive player in the after-market service industry–,
continues Gotthard Haug.
