Ukraine: No limit for drug and OTC advertising

According to news.liga.net, the project planned to allow the placement of advertising and distribution of drugs only

• In specialized publications intended for medical facilities and doctors.
• By placing advertisements in medical institutions and pharmacies.
• And also proposed to extend this to advertising in specialized seminars, conferences and symposia.

Chameleon Pharma Consulting comments: We believe this was only a first trial from the government in order to regulate the strong patient claims put on TV and other media by drug
makers. Soon there might be another attempt. We strongly recommend already now to divide the marketing budget between more cost effective tools. Also new media tools like social media marketing and SEO optimization is hardly implemented in the Ukraine and offers big marketing opportunities for OTC and Pharma companies.
